Practice Works

I often like to document the behind the scenes of my projects to later reflect on, whether it's my storyboards or me actually shooting the project. I use them as a method to help me improve and to look back on where I was at during that particular time in my life. I treat my behind the scenes documentation as a journal for myself, since I often can never find the time to write.

Pictures

For many of my projects I film alone, which sometimes can be difficult since I cannot see myself and have as much control as I would have if I was shooting handheld. I will sometimes allow my camera just to record and then I will review to take notes on a particular shot and proceed to make changes if needed. I end up keeping the footage regardless and take pictures from it to document my process.

Storyboarding

Storyboarding can be a meticulous process, but an efficient one. I often become overwhelmed with all the ideas and thoughts in my head, so allowing myself to put them in a place where I can visually see it is extremely beneficial. I can plan out shots, scripts, characters and projects as a whole with some quick doodles and notes.
